Watch TV or a movie together

Watch TV or a movie together

Gathering in front of the TV can be important for social contact and togetherness during progress of the disease. For people with dementia, watching TV alone seems to be less important as a leisure activity, but the closer others are, the more it affects joy in watching. Familiarity with the content and old interest has shown to influence interest in watching TV for people with dementia. Spending time together can also be enjoying the same thing, in the presence of each other. You don’t have to feel you need to be responsible for entertaining them all the time.
